yesterday's jedi hike

we hiked to jedidiah's grave yesterday. in our hiking party we had all the kids, christina and her daughter marianna, aunt denny, uncle father kevin, and grandma&grandpa(in the golf cart).
we met up with a friend and her daughter from church.
it was a beautiful day with temps in the low 50s and not a cloud in the sky.
father kevin said mass and gave good homily focusing mark 3:22-30(the gospel of the day.

turn off the radio down on the left before watching the video.

  1. That was so nice to see and hear him again!!! I can't thank you enough for sharing such a wonderful brother with all of us... All my girls were huddled around my computer and listening so intently... :)

Hopefully, Fr Kevin will be seeing my son in A'stan in the next few weeks... ~He leaves this week so please include him also in your prayers... I will be doing my best to get everyone so focused on school that we don't sit around worrying too much about the boys over there... ~Please God bring them home safe and sound!

  2. Thank you Liz for videoing Fr. Kevin's homily and sharing it. We felt as if we were there for a moment. The Bernard kids listened to the homily over and over again.
    Sending you prayers, Rose

  5. Hi, I believe I sat in front of you at church this am (St. Monica's). I saw your sweatshirts and I was intrigued. Wow! I just read the entire (yes, the entire) site. I have been weeping all afternoon.

God has truly blessed you. And I have been deeply touched by your insight and generous outpouring. I have a child with Hemophilia, a young teenager, and he has been through a lot. I believe that God works miracles through these precious souls that He has placed in our care. I came back to the Church, I believe, in response to my son's life.

Oh, and by the way,I met your brother, Father Joseph, in the parking lot of St. Monica's last Easter Vigil when my son came into full communion with the Catholic Church; your brother and I had a great conversation for a long while (my daughter and I were leaving, and we all got into a conversation on the way to the cars, a conversation that lasted a good while). We enjoyed comparing notes (I come from a family of 11 brothers and sisters).

Anyway, God bless you as He takes you through this journey. I am grateful for having read such as this. Many, many thanks.

    Your sister in Christ, Martha
