a baby

and it's a boy!
and he's due right after that anniversary of jedi's death- so i come
to you all, yet again- begging your prayers. i still and navigating
grief. i don't LOVE the term rainbow baby. i don't like how people
think of other children purely as a bandaid or a salve. i REALLY want
this baby to stand on his own- be his own person, but right now there
is still a shadow and pretty big shoes to fill. will i EVER see this
baby as he is on his own? or will there be a nagging comparison?
will i find pure joy in being able to nurse and sling this baby-
without the shadow of loss in not ever being able to do that for and
with jedi? i am not sure. all this is so new to me.

  1. I'm so happy for you, Elizabeth. I'll keep you and your sweet baby in my prayers. btw, this is Ruth, Emily's friend, who made Jedi's blue rosary. :)

  2. Oh, what a blessing. This baby will be his very own person, I am sure! Congratulations!
My Georgie was conceived before Mary Francis (8 week miscarriage) would have been born. As much as I miss having her here on earth with us, I can't imagine not having Georgie with me!

Please pray for a family that I know of who just delivered a Trisomy 13 (possibly) baby with heart and palate problems. His name is Maximillian Santiago (family is of Mexican descent) He is about 5 days old and doing MUCH better than the doctors predicted. Max has been baptised and we are all praying very hard.

  8. Having gone through this, I can assure you that this baby - this wonderful gift - a gift to help heal - will not live in Jedi's shadow; but fulfill his presence to you and your family! There is a gap in our family too - a place that "should" be filled. I'm so thankful to God for giving us many blessings, not only to heal that long ago hurt (time does heal), but to have opportunities to love all the more!

You are surely covered in prayer!

God bless you and yours Elizabeth :)
