I have not checked in on your blog for awhile...Holy Spirit must have moved me tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for your family. My girls were all smiles and are already asking what his name is. It made me think about names and how important a strong name is. Once you name your baby he will stand on his own and not in the shadows....you will see.
In Christ,
Erika
Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI first want to congratulate you! This is so exciting! I saw you from afar at Mass yesterday and you looked wonderful!
If you are shopping around for another careprovider, I want to recommend Diane with Gifts from Grace inside of Emory Johns Creek Hospital. (You can go to their website - www.gfgobgyn.com - and if she takes your insurance). I made the switch over in my 36th week with my little Leah because I too, wasn't happy with my other careprovider, and I felt God calling me to go see Diane. (I had heard about her from a fellow Saint Monica's parishioner, and from what I've heard, there are quite a few other parishioners that go to her as well). I won't ever have my Babies delivered by someone else.
She is a Catholic, pro-life midwife, who is just a joy to be around. She is sweet,
funny, makes you feel wonderful no matter how you're feeling - she is so full of
wisdom, and in my humble opinion, there is nobody like her. Her office is cute and welcoming. The restroom looks like you're at a friend's house, not in a clinic. She promotes NFP, and does not have birth control "advertisements" hanging in her exam rooms. Instead each room has a theme; like "The Beach." :) this was really nice for me as I had to bring my Lily with me to appointments and while she was much to young to know the difference anyway, it just meant the world to me that I didn't have to worry.
She works with another midwife, Sarah, who is also wonderful, and the doctor is Dr. Modugno who is great! He visited me in the hospital when Diane couldn't be there because of her appointments.
Everything about Gifts from Grace is just wonderful. Their staff and nurses are so friendly, kind and loving.
Anyway, sorry about the long post, and I'm so happy for you with the expectance of your newest little one. You have a beautiful family!
God Bless!!!
@erika- i can see what you mean about a name and standing on his own. i think that's why i am restless until i find the one- you know?
ReplyDelete@megan- i have heard of diane- she actually delivered my niece last summer. two of my sister's LOVE her and have nothing bad to say.
but the difference between my sisters and i is that i have a history of big babies- AND i routinely go post dates. i have had a phone interview with diane and got the feeling (and have heard from others) that she doesn't have confidence with post date big babies. she tends to encourage induction. she also is ok with mom saying "i don't want to be pregnanct anymore" and she's off to induce(medically unnecessary).
i am rather impressionable during late pregnancy and especially in labor and i think with a care provider that doesn't demonstrate confidence i would cave to interventions that may not necessarily be in my or the baby's best interest.
i have had a prior c-section and inductions increase your risk of c-section SO after a woman has had two c-sections there is only one doctor in atlanta that will give a woman a real honest shot at vaginal birth. and with each added c-section, risk is added to each subsequent pregnancy(placenta acreta, placental abruption, placenta previa). SOOO...
i guess it shows that i've given this ALOT of thought, probably too much. but i take my fertility seriously and don't make care provider choices too lightly.
thank you for your recommendation though.
